The Halcyon Arts Lab Fellowship is a nine-month fellowship established to provide emerging and socially-engaged artists from the international community with time and space to explore new ideas and ambitious projects in an environment of independent learning, study, and collaboration. This fellowship is designed to provide support and resources to artists who desire to develop projects that promote social impact, and for those who want to grow as leaders in the field of socially-engaged art.

Fellowship dates: October 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018

Location: The Fillmore School, 1801 35th Street NW, Washington, DC 20007

Halcyon Arts Lab accepts six national and international fellows and two Washington, DC-resident fellows in each year of the program.

Fellows accepted will receive the following supports:

• A dedicated studio to concentrate on independent learning and creative practice
• $18k financial scholarship to support living and material costs
• Nine months of free off-site residential accommodation (eligible for non-D.C. residents only)
• A curriculum of practical classes and talks from visiting artists and civic leaders
• Mentorship and critique from experienced professionals.
• Mentorship opportunities with D.C. high school students to provide guidance, instruction and inspiration to the next generation
• Opportunities to collaborate with fellow artists, social entrepreneurs and our program partner organizations in Washington, D.C.
