After the initial process of laboring on the play, alone in my room, I now join thrillingly, Team Avila, to create a live theater experience of TERESA'S ECSTASY, at Cherry Lane Theater, March, 2012. This is a creative, cultural, and profoundly entertaining event that’s sole purpose is to emotionally move our NY community audiences both connected to Spain, Europe and the United States.
Teresa’s Ecstasy takes place in Barcelona, while two American women come to visit Andres, a complex, vulnerable, self-righteous, Spanish artist. This play will challenge beliefs in politics, religion, sexuality and what it means to be part of a relationship. As a result, the collective audience experience will be one of laughter, sorrow, tears, and awe.
In May 2011, INTAR Theater gave us the opportunity to workshop Teresa’s Ecstasy. After its public showing, esteemed theater producer and angel, Jack Sharkey, saw its possibilities and offered to sponsor half of the budget to mount this beautiful play Off-Broadway. From there, Eduardo Machado, former Artistic Director of INTAR, offered to help place Teresa’s Ecstacy in the historic Cherry Lane Theater. Finally, the amazing Will Pomerantz came on board to direct its world premiere.
We are thrilled to offer you the opportunity to become a part of the producing team as a donor, to help bring the story of Teresa’s Ecstasy to the stage. With your support we will be able to pay our cast and crew, commission a painter to create original work specifically for this production, work with award- winning Catalán composer, Albert Carbonell, who will write original music, purchase materials for costumes and the set, and - best of all - courageously share this humorous, provocative play with New York audiences.
We welcome you to check out our IndieGoGo fundraising campaign at http://www.indiegogo.com/Teresas-Ecstasy where you will find many ways in which to participate and support. In return, you may receive a signed poster by the cast and crew, tickets to the opening night performance and reception, a copy of the musical score by Albert Carbonell, or a tour of the historic Cherry Lane Theater. Avila Productions Team is deeply grateful to each and every one of you, and your contributions that will ensure the realization of this production.
The Avila Productions Team: Albert Carbonell: Composer, Jennifer Conley Darling: Producer, Shawn Elliott: Actor, Linda Larkin: Actor, Begonya Plaza: Playwright/Actor, Will Pomerantz: Director, Jack Sharkey: Executive Producer

I went to see it two weeks ago, and I loved the theater, the acting, specially the male actor, the food, and the fact that was set in Barcelona (my city). The dialog was interesting, and even though it kept going sometimes for a bit too long, we enjoyed the night a lot. Congratulations,
Mercedes Salvador
