Jana Leo is best known for projects that last for long time and are extended into different media and materialized into different forms. Best example of this practice is Rape New Yor.
Last decade long project is known under the title Rape New York, and specifically as: Rape New York- A Story of a Rape and an Examination of a Culture of Predation (a book published in the fiction Semina series by BookWorks in London 2009), Rape New York- Open Archive (an exhibition that took place at the Art Gallery: Invisible Exports, 14A Orchard New York, in June 2009) and Rape New York - Affective and legal Documents (a catalogue). In 2007, related to the content of Rape New York, Leo performed Control Games in the 2007 Galway festival. Her work challenges the perceptual division between public and private, and the classification of genres and disciplines.
