“It all began in Chaouen (Morocco), where, as a very young boy I became fascinated by the chants calling to prayer, the “cante” flamenco in my father’s old gramophone and that little guitar that I could barely grab. My destiny forged itself around a guitar, around flamenco and the mixture of sounds that surrounded me. There exist no memories in my mind without some of those elements in one way or another. From that moment on, my entire learning, good friend and faithful life partner of my experiences, continues to guide me.”
We have tried to recreate the “Intimate Spaces” of our mind, from the simplicity and clarity of the lighting and scenery, simple and raw, without concessions.
This concert is an invitation to encounter the silences, to walk with the music and move with the dance. And it is born of the constant search for a space where words are not necessary, and where only a breath can be the voice, where the music stops, where the dance show us the image of the melodies, or takes us by the hand to that empty or full space where the memories, the emotions…all that is intangible lives.
All of this, without loosing the deepest flamenco essence, in a new and contemporary aesthetic, that is merely a reflection of our time.
