Jana Leo is a conceptual artist with degrees in philosophy and architecture. In 2007 Leo started Civic Gaps, and in 2008 Fundación Mosis, both think tanks dedicated to studying neglected spaces and manners in the city. Prior, 2000 to 2007 Leo taught at Cooper Union for seven years, and now divides her time between New York and Madrid. Leo first book in English is Rape New York, published in London 2008 and in New York 2011. Leo’s work involve public involvement, private exposure and the use of documentation, image and performance. She has classified her work formally as designing a situation, and content ways as public intimacy. Leo has show in MNCARS (Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia) she often shows in New York at Invisble Exports Gallery.
